@Bigwave2003 Quite fortunate, then, I suppose, that Mr. Untermyer's involvement with left-wing organizations (some of them Communist fronts) led CBS to insist on his removal from the panel just a few months later - and his replacement (as it turned out, for the remainder of the series' run on CBS) was Bennett Cerf.

@ipmoic I must agree. Also, had not Betsy Palmer or Bess Meyerson been so sucsessful on I've Got a Secret, they would have been excellent panelists here. I am glad thought that Dorothy Killgalen came along.

A brunette Arlene Frahncis...

@SOLE2SOUL The producers got rid of the walk c 1955.

@soulierinvestments I ran across the episode recently where Arlene invited viewers to write in and urge the producers to eliminate the walk by so they could get in another guest. I don't think the date was posted but I always wondered when they got rid of it.

wow, these really are the early days. daly is talking at a fast clip and sprier than I've ever seen.

I think Betty Furness could have been a very good, long-term panelist.
Obviously, Gary Moore became a big star in the '50's.

Great

I've never seen Betty Furness so young!

I find the panelist Untemeyer really annoying. His long-winded questions, the I'll keep talking until I say something clever attitude, and at times he seems to be reading (or trying to remember) quips he wrote down earlier.
The walk by with requests got way out of control really early. Siilllyy! Thank heaven the producers toned down the embarrassing questions and requests eventually and finally got rid of the whole thing all together.

Interesting to see John smoking a cigarette during the questioning.
