This will really be useful when by some magical technology, they achieve a material that can change it's size and shape, while interpreting the data from the simulation, that is, some weird blob that can morph into the apple (or the boobs, or the phone, or whatever). Nanotubes perhaps? I just hope I live to see it.

I could see this being used for hand soldering training of complex or expensive circuits, or just as training.

This could be very big in the desgin/engineering industry. Often when you buy something so is because how it "felt". For an exampel so is it importent that a car door not only sound right, but also feels right when you open it. If it feels bad so would you imagine that the whole car is bad.
