American Ninja is Ninja Gaiden.
Also, the main theme and [Truckin'] from Avenging Force sound similar to what japanese game programers used in their ninja games soundtracks.

LOL, I hated GI Joe & Watchmen so damn much.
This movie is entertaining but for all the wrong reasons. Some mainstream B-movies also fail to deliver (Ninja Assassin). Lionsgate is honestly the only one good at selling hardcore Action movies nowadays (Punisher movies, Expendables, Rambo 4, WAR & they own the rights to so many classic Action movies (Rambo trilogy, Terminator 2, Top Dog, Army of One, Suicide Kings, Young Guns, Total Recall).

Saw this on TV yesterday. Wow, this films a blast... kinda underrated, considering how unpopular it is compared to other Stallone/ Arnie/ Chow action flicks.
Sure many of the action scenes looked fake, but its still way more entertaining than GI Joe and The Watchmen combined... American Ninja deserves a higher rating in IMDb than what it had at present...
PS: Does anyone know that Steve James (the black guy), his wife is Chinese? :D

Didn't know that. But James is probably the best thing about these flicks. That and laser ninjas.
