@bryanswagerty I believe it's in honor of Booker T. Jones, who is still playing today (of Booker T. and the MGs fame). It's clearly his sound.

GENIAL CANCION!!!!!

This is much bluesier than The Gift. I never understood why it was called Booker T, but this version makes way more sense.

@Tsugaheterophylla This is a live recording from when Reed was ill and had to stop playing live for a while. They brought back old drummer Angus Maclise and Tucker switched to bass, while Cale and Morrison filled the role of guitars. This rather sloppy live jam evolved into the instrumental part of The Gift from WL/WH.

This is real rock n roll! Mo Tucker is on the drums of course. But the others? Cale, bass? Morrison and Reed are presumably on the guitars, I am guessing Reed has the rhythm part and Morrison has the rather loopy lead. Is Reed playing the Gretsch which appears in phots from that era? And what might Morrison be playing?
I love the break at about 4:40 where it seems to stall for a moment and then Reed takes the lead. Awesome, blazing, love the wailing tone. His best work on the guitar.
