The Hideous Torture Device!

We were working on this 100+ year old house and found a strange device in the dug out area we call the basement. This device was basically a workbench set up with a motorized reel mower on it. If you have any ideas what it was used for, let me know!

I secretly think it was a strange torture device!

Edit: Some morons keep insisting that this is a mower. I even say in the video that the blade part is a mower, but you can see that it is attached to a table, etcetera, so it is obviously not a mower. I know it's not a torture device, that was a little humor. Also: Sorry about the noise, that was the generator running in the background.

@Cristianron1 Part of it is, yes. But the mower is mounted to a table, with the blades sticking up--it no longer functions as a mower.

Its obvious what this is. I read the comments and nobody got it right, unless I missed something. The clue is that the blades are turning backwards. This is a lawnmower SHARPENER. You put grinding compound between blade and bed knife, spin the mower backwards with a mower, and it sharpens itself. Used to be very common.

Cant be sure, since i cant see with way the used-to-be lawn-mower-blades are rotating, but it strongly reminds me of old farmhouse tools used in this country for various reasons!

Like peeling of the bark of sticklike vegetables to beating out grain from a bundle!!! The lather seems the most likely to me at this time since such a proces only produces dust and not moist and fairly safe to operate!! If my suggestion is right you should have come across some baking aquipment too, i reckon!!
