  • Heartbreakingly beautiful music!!!! Well-paced, stressing its lyricity, not rushing anything. It speaks for itself - the best test for a major composer, which Delius most certainly was!! [I can see why Harold Schönberg, the New York Times critic of the 70s and 80s, could speak of Delius as a nearly-Chaykóvskian melodist - and in this piece he comes very close also to the great Russian's plangency and poignancy!]

  • Frederick Delius was born in the victorian town hall in Bradford Yorkshire England in 1862 and he died in Grez in france 1934 aged 72.

    Delius is one of my favorite English composers.

  • very nice rendition.... not too much pace but doesn't get too sluggish... perhaps a bit more excited at 1:42 onwards with a bigger surge at 2:59... still very listenable...
