You are right that it is a thankless task. These videos are used for more than mere posting on this website though.

I use them on guitar related forums to put down a point (and admittedly, occasionally to show off for the fun of it). And if someone does not get the point, I will get understandably pissed, so I will say something, even if it does not help, at least I did what I could.

(cont'd) Yes, these vids are up for public critique, I actually like criticism if it is constructive, which is why I ask someone to back up their opinion, or it does not mean jack shit (i.e. "You Suck" with no explanation), and it get's deleted.

I hate wading though video comments full of stupid shit, and I'm sure others do too. Scary part is this is possibly the most worthwhile debate on this whole video's comment bay. Sometimes it pays to put your foot down and say HEY, this is how it is.

Quick question, if I don't care what someone thinks, then does that not make this advice hypocritical, as it's pretty much an invitation expecting me to heed it, which I do already, albeit selectively.

It's an endless catch 22, you're either not going to care, then someone with more clout than you is going to cause trouble and drama, or you are at least going to appear to so people will leave you alone if they want to waste their breath on you...(cont'd)
