12-string Guitar: Early One Morning

In my attempt to video all the songs in my repertoire, I have now reached those beginning with the letter E. Early One Morning is a song I remember learning at primary school and the tune and words have stayed with me in all the ensuing years. So much so that I managed to get this recording in only one take, so please excuse the one slight error towards the end if you spot it. If not, enjoy! :))

Tony. Really nice! Played just as I imagine it was originally sung when first composed. What slight mistake near the end? Doesn't detract one bit.

This song for personal reasons I hold very dear to my heart (brought back memories from at least 25 yrs ago).............you have a lovely souful voice that does this song true justice. Great song mate. And you play the guitar and sing very nice. But there's only one version i love most and i've heard it only one time in tv show. Seems like that's the only version i'll ever love and sing.

Loved your version of Early One Morning; best one yet! One of my all-time favourite songs from my childhood. Was the opening song on a children's television show called "The Friendly Giant" with Bob Homme. Your version sounds just like the one from the show, only with a guitar instead of harp and flute. Now I have the words to the song as well so I can sing along; weren't any lyrics with the original tv show. Thanks for this beautifull gift of music, you've really made my day! Lorna Stubbs.

Early one morning was the opening song for a childhood show The Friendly Giant. It was played on recorder and harp (look up The Friendly Giant on youtube and give it a listen) Every Canadian born between 1958-1984 holds this song in some dear part of thier heart. I very much appreciate the lyrics and chords in the inset. Very well done...
