This mountain ramble takes off from the Southern Sierra town of Three Rivers, heads over to the second smallest operating post office in the nation, then backtracks to the Kaweah River in order to make the long trek up Mineral King Road to the valley of the same name. Hope you do not have any other plans for today, because the road up to Mineral King may be just 25 miles long--but it take a good hour to make that trip. And once you are up there, definitely stop for pie at the Silver City Resort, and plan on spending some time in the beautiful Mineral King itself. Even Walt Disney thought this stunning valley looked like Switzerland. - created at http://animoto.com
