Frankly speaking I was waiting for metro opening in Dubai because I thought it would have the same meaning as in my country, in Belarus. But I was very disappointed that it turned to be unpractical and too slow. Apparently it's better than nothing, but the satisfied people think so just because they have nothing to compare. In Moscow or Minsk(the place where I stay) a train moves up to 180 km per hour. In Dubai maximum 90.I think the arabs were cheated once again paying so much money and have 0

I think the speed as reported is in maximum speed of 100 km/h, I believe it's sufficient for for the city, however, once the connection lines for the UAE Train project, or Abu Dhabi Connection is done in the UAE plan for connecting all the cities then they will explorer higher speed trains, and I bet they will work on braking a new world record.

@WAGAHEHEH i think another reason dubai metro is made because of the traffic. Some people in a rush hour might find the metro very useful because even though the stations are close to each other, you can still get to your destination in a few minutes.

yeah...alainet righlty said...once there is a train network connecting dubai to other emirates...expect a new world record when it comes to speed...but for now dubai metro is running at a speed appropriate for the city limits...also the stations are pretty close .."dubai rocks"

this train cannot go more than 100 kilometers per hour, dubai is such a small emirate and the stations are way too close to each other, but if we are going to think the truth notice how a small country stands in the event of a crisis and continued about their promise and dream for their people...what every commuters expecting now is the fair deal from the authorities they should make it affordale for everybody to enjoy and use... i hope there will be a metro from abu dhabi to saudi arabia soon..
