Guess what, I am a great fan of both E.L.O. and Lily Allen and greatly enjoy BOTH versions of Mr Blue Sky.
I must be strange not to see it as a battle.

I haven't heard the original but I absolutely love this version. I think it's refreshing, creative, and really fun, but I will definitely look up ELO's version :)

this song is AWESOME....................... .............................. ........ when E.L.O first sung it! I am sorry but allowing someone withone of the most bland voices i ahve evr heard to sing this song has butchered it completely it's no loner a classic thanks to lily allen but a shameful shell of it's former glory.

Not many people know that the last words spoken threw the vocoder at the very end was "Please Turn Me Over" and not "Mr. Blue Sky -Yi" as commonly misheard. Richard Tandy confirmed this and is easy to hear. It was the last song on that side of vinyl.
