I know you didn't say that. I just referring to what I believe is the reason why some people seem so angry at Vikersund. :)

I have heard 290m after the renovation in Planica. That would be spectacular! I am no opponent of Planica. I just want people to enjoy ski jumping/ski flying, which is originating in my country as a sport. Sondre Norheim started it all.

But I have to admit that I like the fact that the WR is in Vikersund, as long as it lasts. ;)

I didn't post any bullshit about Vikersund stealing WR from Planica.. Planica is being renovated right now, they are going to deepen it so it will be possible to fly past 270m(FIS approved plans) - it can be safely extended even further - at least that Mr. Gorisek said(he and his son also made plans for Vikersund).

Anyway. The initial goal of Vikersund was to have a hill in good enough shape to host World Championships. The WR was just a bonus. Those are the words of the leaders of Vikersundbakken.

They never had an intention of "stealing" the WR from Planica. If that were the case, they would build a much larger hill. ;)

Yes it can be. Planica is completely operated on voluntary work, same thing with biathlon, ski competitions etc..

This weekend there is 1400 volunteers working in the world championships.

In Norwegian we call it "dugnad".
