@mordinvan Well I am just giving the theists the benefit of the doubt for the argument. You are of course right because to It we would be as bacteria are to us. We certainly don't have much of an interest in a specific single celled Acidophillus right before we eat it (it is the bacterium found in yogurt).

If there is a 'god' of some type, able to create entire universes, I doubt he'd notice us, or care what we did/thought.
-
@mordinvan You make a good point for the unknowable nature of a god (lower case) within the concepts that may very well be unknowable. The fact is that I happen to be an agnostic athiest (as opposed to a gnostic athiest) and I personally think that IF a God was proven to be real, he would be very displeased with the nonsense carried out by our species' flailings against the nature of the Universe.
Being deceived is one thing...intentional self-delusion is another altogether.

@DerpdaDerp1 ....till they take arrows to the knee.

@cdickenson64 The whole point of his claim this college in Hungary called on him was potraying them as trying to rope him into a debate for which he is not prepared. Making his flock believe they wanted to "intellectualize" him down because they are such evil, manipulative communists who are also athiest.
"Oh but my dear flock I one upped them, I outsmarted the Smarties at their own game..yessir....I made them admit 'We don't know'...therefore God wins"
Which is of course tripe.

@dinomand you have made a mistep in saying that it would be 0-5 of no god.
IF we take him up on his presupposition that God exists within the body of knowable Knowledge within the Universe, and if we simply do not individually know of it, he is making the claim that therefore we cannot refute God. This isn't question of numbers for or against. The overall claim he is making is what is called the 'argument from ignorance'. Basically, because we don't know the answer, God must exist.
-
@amadain17 Pascal's wager so easily encompasses the logical fallacy known as the "argument from ignorance" which is why its used so often, since no one can prove a negative.
But, you are also forgetting to mention that he offers a logical fallacy of the "false dichotomy" by setting up the presumption of only 2 possible choices.
I am also aware that you personally, Amadain, know these but I am mentioning it for those who read this who are not as familiar.

What IS his argument ?
That people want to belive fairytales more then reality, if so I agree, but that has no bearing on the truth of his proposition !
That if we know 5% of the knowable, then god is in the remaining 95%, but there is still 0% knowable about God(s), its not 95-5 but 0-5 in favor of no God(s)
I can find no argument for God(s) in this vid, am I the only one bevildered by the name of the vid, "Best reply to an atheist" its not a reply, its just an interlectual non starter.

Is it possible this man knows 5% of the bible. I would be willing to bet, that we atheists know MORE of the bible than he does. Now I don't pretend to know the whole bible, but this twit spoke for two hours on astronomy and archeology? A theologian? Speaking his bias? Is he really qualified to speak on these subjects? He should have confessed to the student that the astronaut didn't see god because god isn't real. He probably only believes as long as the paychecks last.
I just have to point out that I think this guy is a complete is a complete tool. I uploaded this video because none of the others allowed comments, and idiocy on this scale needs to be talked out. ;)
