In Chicago on Monday, US President-elect Barack Obama and his former challenger, Republican John McCain, met for their first face-to-face talks since Mr. Obama defeated the Arizona senator in the presidential election November fourth. In a joint statement, they said they discussed the need for an era of reform in Washington. And they pledged to work together on solving the country's financial crisis. Carolyn Presutti reports.
