@dundonrl Please point out where i stated the 5.0 was built for boost? Nowhere? Ok thats what i thought, i said that you can safely run boost and big rwhp numbers without a 5.0 needing to be rebuilt. Also i call bullshit on the MM&FF pushing 44psi through an otherwise stock iron blocked 03 cobra engine. Mark (fastest stock longblock cobra in the world) has grenaded stock longblocks with 20+psi with a single hellion kit, running 8s with a touch over the 1000rwhp mark.

@black87gt how much boost can you shove into a 5.0 without changing factory internals? a stock internal 03 Cobra (it did have O ringed heads) but otherwise stock internals handled 44 psi being shoved into it(hellion hellraiser in MM&FF).. so to handle high boost, you bet your ass you need to build the hypereutectic piston, powdered metal conrod engine.. it's internals ARE NOT designed to handle high boost levels. (that's from the Coyote engineers, not me)

@black87gt guess you better look again, both the 4.6 and 5.0 share the same bore spacing of 100mm and same deck height of 227 mm, also the same connecting rod length of 150.7mm . Sure the bore diameter is increased from 90.2 mm to 92.2 mm and stroke from 90 mm to 92.7 mm, BUT that being said one of the design constraints that Ford was under was that they had to use the same assembly line machinery to assemble the 5.0 as the 4.6 which is why it is ALSO a Modular engine and not it's own engine.

@dundonrl Here we go again, with you spreading your bullshit knowledge. The 4.6 WAS a shitty little engine, the only worthwhile 4.6 was the 4v. The 5.0 is NOTHING like the 4.6, "it has better heads" youre a fucking moron! The bore is different, the bore spacing is different, among MANY other things. The 5.0 is a new engine and not even in the same category as the 4.6, other than them both being made by Ford.

A 5.0 motor does not need rebuilt to handle boost, with the vvt system they actually handle boost quite well, there are plenty of 5.0s out there running a novi 2200 or a whipple 624, over the 600rwhp mark and running 10s. Please go elsewhere with your bs!
