Mark Levin interviewed the president of Hillsdale College Larry P. Arnn for his newest book, "The Founders' Key." Larry also explains to us a few of the most important ideas in the Declaration of Independence.

My point, was twofold: first, many scholars are not interested in the "publish or perish" mentality that now dominates the academic echo chamber; second, many scholars find modern intellectual standards, even in peer-reviewed journals, to be laughable. Larry Arnn was the chief research assistant for Winston Churchill's official biographer, and founded the Claremont Institute. He focused more on teaching and institution building, rather than the often masturbatory and inane quest to be published.

oh dear, not my point. he presents himself as an academic, yet he doesn't contribute to peer reviewed journals. I don't know where you get this vague 'established institutions' stuff from; you'd have show that arnn's work was/is deliberately being excluded from the academic sphere solely on the basis of ideological differences (or 'truth' or whatever you presumptively label it as)

You have a good point. It has always been true that established institutions always tell the truth and always are open to every reasonable voice. It has never been the case that entrenched viewpoints or ideological commitments have influenced prejudice and discriminatory activity against wise or truthful people. Thank the stars above, we have sensible people like you, who always know how to identify any wrong opinion: the opinion not already resounding in the echo chamber.

I went to Hillsdale for a while and finally dropped out. It's not a school, it's an indoctrination facility.

Thanks, would add: Think the founding fathers knew for the gov to work we need an educated and ethical public. Finding out that this education is specific to the ideas and morals forming the Declaration and Constitution. That is why we have public education. But what did I (we) learn in school? Not the right stuff to keep hold of the start of a more perfect union.
