One of my favorite book on plant ID is called "Wild Flowers of the Pacific Coast" by Leslie L Haskin. It describes not only the plant but also tells some history on what it was used for. It is old.. from 1967 but it is full of information. Not tons of pics but it does have some good ones. Of course, Im a sucker for old books too.

  • @christcalledcowboy Hey Cam, if you want an experts opinion, you might want to look somewhere else.. Did you find that ookow flower blooming? If so you must have a vastly different climate than here!

  • got any idea what rocks are good to make arrowheads out of in the muntains of goragia

  • @minecraftman78 I really dont. Im in Oregon... long way from Goragia. you might be able to find something on the net that tells about rock there. sorry. Dan

  • Good luck for that blizzard coming you're way!

  • @zekeyo37 We survived the storm! Lots and lots of rain... still raining but not as much. The rivers and streams went way up.. lots of bad flooding in surrounding areas but we didnt get it too bad.

  • Yeah. I've found actually a lot of blooming patches on neighboring cities. It's dryer here in southern California then Oregon im sure.

  • @Tossdart heh heh.. seeya

  • @gotrocksinhead Yup cry for your mommy :). curse maybe! Madness I tells ya. Off to work, good im ehe.

  • @Tossdart heh, heh. I think it would be harder on more than just birds... I think my sorry behind would be frozen to the ground! Pretty sure it would do me in fairly quick!

  • @gotrocksinhead Ehe almost instant messaging there. Transit owns me 6 days a week. I mentioned get 12 hr splits & only two weeks off a year. Otherwise I'd be on my way. Frost is 6" root cellars have to be below 6 feet here. Our weather went abruptly a week ago from +6 to -38 was coldest day yesterday. Only going to -34 or so tonight then a slow warming & back to +2 C or say 35 F. Overall been a nice winter. It is hard on birds at -40. Goshawks increase as well at this time of year.
