the funny thing is - this is one of the few jobs I actually want to do - I recently got a guard card for security work - I doubt I'd want to work security forever, but, in general all I really care about as far as a job is being able to work graveyard shift, or close to it. I've been a night person ever since I was a little kid, and for me, working during the day is a nightmare - have done it twice so far - never again - all it accomplishes is making me tired, grouchy, and incredibly bitter.

Well since your into working nights, like I am, this site you would have probably liked, since it would have been a comfortable environment for you without no one to bother you at all. The only thing you would have to worry about would have been, the morning relief and hope they show up on time to relieve you where you don't get stuck a double shift.

Well, try being a security guard at a department store in a rough neighborhood. You will have to physically throw people out of the store.

Yes Ive done that too...and I immediately had to get transferred for getting physical with a shopper caught stealing...aint that a bitch!?

Something people need to understand about these types of jobs; if you are doing something else to advance your life (like going to school) at the same time, then these jobs are great because you can basically rest and get paid. If this type of boring job is the only thing you got going on, you will one day just start feeling like crap and realise that your life is streaming on by. These type of jobs can steal years from your life before you even know what happened.

I feel ya brother. Maybe if you made the job more difficult for your relief or the clean up crew, you could get tranfered. Or fired. Atleast then you could collect unemployment while you found another job.

@JJNAM151 atleast you have air conditioning! try working at an amusement park in texas, it hasnt rained here in months (or gotten below 100f) and all i do all day is pick up puke, tear my hands checking seats, and listen to people trying to bitch at me in spanish.

thats so relaxing try working at panera bread where all people do is complain and when its busy you start sweating in the air conditioning which is pretty damn hard. all my co-workers hate the job including me. ive been there for 2 and half months and want to quit. but then again im always cleaning up dining room which is the worst. i almost went insane today from how much i hated it. and my boss yelled at me for moving slow on a slow day. how much sense does that make?
