all we can do is keep breathing // Maura + Jane (AU)

... so this has taken about... two weeks? Maybe more, I don't know or remember. I've never attempted anything AU like this so I hope that you will all just go with the flow of it. This is dedicated to Ali (for helping me think of baby scenes) and to Chels125843.

So here is a slight story if you can't gather anything concrete from the video itself.
-- A dangerous case is pressing in on Jane, and by extension Maura, but the medical examiner doesn't seem worried because they just adopted their baby boy. Just a few days after said adoption Jane ends up being shot and she dies. Broken by the death of Jane, it is their son (who is going to be named Jai for personal reasons) who gives Maura the strength to keep breathing from day to day. The b&w are flash backs, most from her time with Jane. The colored parts are mostly scenes of Maura and Jai throughout the years.

& every time I watch it, I'm on the verge of tears by the time the funeral scene happens.

You do get the storyline so easily, cause it seems so natural.. I mean: You didn't have to fake the feelings they have... they are just there and you showed them in such an amazing way... that is just so damn cute. I love it. Love it.
