I have worked for several gas companys and the only thing they care about is there profit, NOT THE LAND, NOT THE WATER , NOT THE SMELL , JUST PROFIT . That being said I do not blame anyone for leaseing there land it's money and that is what we have been taught america is all about.

We live in Wayne County. To my family, it is a natural paradise full of green woods and animals. There's gorgeous waterways and lakes. We live here all year round. This drilling situation threatens the environment & our health. The companies sell the oil OVERSEAS, so all this does for the USA is ruin our natural resources. That is fact, not "tree huggers" being ignorant! Being blind to the overwhelming evidence that these practices destroy the environment & polluted water is ignorant.

I understand that you are scared of drilling, it's human nature to be scared of what you don't understand. On the other hand, ya might want to go ahead and prepare yourself for it, because unless you have the financial means to buy all of the mineral rights in the area that you are oh so concerned about, it's going to happen. Life is full of change, you might as well come to terms with it.

If they are going to drill it for natural gas I wish they would let me go up there and hunt all the animals and catch all the fish with no limit.

This is so very important to people in NYC. If they want to continue to drink clean water and pay a reasonable price for it, they'd better wake up now. Area residents must realize that drilling will pollute our air, our water and our way of life. OUr property values will plummet (you think the economy is bad? You think that wind turbines are ugly? You ain't seen nothin' yet!). No Gas Drilling in the Catskills!
do u own that land ? are u paying taxes , i own 300 acres of land , my family has owned the land for 22 years , i lost my job , thank god i was able to lease my property i'm able to pay my mortage and put food on the table . till u pay my bills keep out of it. they do not ruin the land.

You sold your mineral equity & rights. "Our Beloved River" and the "Watershed" are not owned by any person or corporation - the watershed is for the generations yet to come - it is a "common" trust. Your property rights - do not include injecting millions-of-gallons of our pure water mixed with secret toxic chemicals into the ground. Please remember - the same federal deregulation that caused your financial situation - is now beginning to contaminate our public water supply - look at Pittsburgh.
