This was videoed at Maidstone in 1970 just behind my old school at Oakwood Park. I was in the audience and several kids from my school can be seen dancing. How young we were.

I've renamed this as I hope to upload the rest of the video in parts. Part is here:

  • Even if they had never included the sublime, unique,Sandy Denny,on this evidence alone,I would have thought them the greatest English Folk Rock band of all time.

  • A timeless piece. What a wonderful atmosphere. Looks like early autumn. The vibes are in the groove. This is Swarb at is peak; what a line-up. Will we ever see the likes of these fellows again - I doubt it...

  • @wadefite You can get the studio version on "Full House"

  • been a fan of fairport for decades - just stumbled on this by accident - What a gem !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • AWESOME - still stands the hair up on the back of my neck even after forty odd years

As live gigs go this is the standard by which all others should be judged.

Swarb you were truly brilliant. . .!

I really just want to say how muchI agree with you and how your words expressed the sentiment far better than I ever could have hoped to do. Peace, man :-)

  • sorry, not being disrespectful, but it's not a patch on 'Now Be Thankful'

  • Not their finest moment...

  • This is absolutely fantastic, it gives me immense happiness and some sadness, too. Not only for the passing of time, but also because I feel that all what had been built during those years has gone, probably forever. I mean sense of community, friendship, condivision, peace, anti-militarism. Now I see mainly (hope not only) wild competition and loneliness, and little true happiness.

But anyway, let's enjoy this wonderful music, a superb one, unbeatable! FC forever!!
