Augmented Reality on your Digital Photo Frame

Here at IPEVO we are very excited about how devlopment of augmented reality (AR) is progressing these days. We made an experimental video using the AR technology provided by Metaio (www.metaio.com). In this video we will demonstrate how to realize AR using printout images. We will also leverage our own digital photo frame and webcam, which could lead to something interesting in the future.

To reproduce the video on your own, follow these steps:

1. Prepare these items: a webcam, a digital photo frame (*), a PC with Internet Explorer pre-installed.
2. Connect your webcam to your computer.
3. Download Printouts Webcam AR-Live.pdf from the following website and save them in a format that your digital photo frame can display.

4. Open http://webcam.ar-live.de/ in the Internet Explorer browser. Make sure your webcam images are displayed.
5. Locate your webcam so that it captures the digital photo frame screen.
6. Play the printout images in your digital photo frame.
7. Enjoy 3D modelings in the display!
(*) You can also use your mobile phone or an LCD monitor as long as the printout images can be displayed on its screen.
