Details of a project I'm working on to make a Point & Click adventure game in the style of Monkey Island but based around one of the stories in the Old Testament.

It's also a bit of a plea for help from any budding script-writers, concept artists or 3D modellers out there who might be interested. Visit my website at http://www.geero.net/bible-games.html for more details.

  • Hi Andy,

My name is Myles Blasonato and I am working on a couple of games one being Mapoco Mountain that feels a lot like Monkey Island.

I think your idea is great but I think adding humor to a bible could be a touchy thing for catholics. I'm catholic myself and I can say that I probably wouldn't be offended but I know a lot of others that would be.

What type of jokes are we talking about here?

    Cheers.

  • @mylesblasonato It's hard to pin down a specific joke, but I'm talking more about the "feel" of it - it's very light-hearted, and doesn't take itself entirely seriously (whilst still being an epic story!)

I certainly don't mean making bad puns that take the name of the Lord in vain or anything like that - apart form anything else, I don't think that would be very funny.

  • Its kind of funny because just before he says the word Bible the sound designer's name Tom Bible appears on screen

  • You might have a wider audience if you made it inspired from the bible, but not telling bible stories verbatim. Perhaps if they were Donkeys in Space that he had to fetch, ha ha. I loved the space quest series from Sierra. Like Monkey Island, they had the hapless hero, Roger Wilco--Janitor 2nd class.

  • Ah i see.

I think it sounds awesome. I look forward to the game.

Good luck and all the best with it.
