  • Respectfully, I think Karen learned the techniques very quickly. She is very personable, and did a great job presenting this story, and raising awareness.

  • @GoofyBoa ''So what are some other things that you can teach me, cuz we got from the back and from the front now'' ''Lay down please'' (she kneels) ''On my back?'' ''Yes'' (Jiu jitsu porn movie begins)

  • Did they just do it on tv??

  • I SO WANNA MEET LEGEND ROYCE GRACIE !!!!! DAMN SHE'S LUCKY !

  • "like you got me from behind..." hmmmmmmm :D

  • @Game your logic doesn't work. The fight they show is similar to what you assert. Royce is WORLD CLASS JJ-ist fighting someone who is basically a wrestler...bigger than him, like a typical man/woman matchup (size). As a WORLD CLASS JJ-ist, it took 16 minutes to do anything. Severn barely threw a punch. People don't understand the physicality involved....16 min. is FOREVER. Further, they are rolling around on a mat, not curbs/etc. A 1yr woman is NOT "world class". Bas Rutten shows reality.

  • Jiu Jitsu can be USED for self defense, but it's not meant to be a 2 class session for women's self defense. It is a martial art that you have to train at for at least a year to be good enough to defend yourself in real application.

  • @kenfo0 What are you talking about? This isn't about some karate McDojo. Most jiu jitsu schools or "MMA" schools where they teach boxing, muay thai, wrestling, jiu jitsu, etc.. you will get banged up.

This isn't a womens self defense class... the story is about a legit jiu jitsu school.

You get bruises, scrapes, mat burns, cuts, bloody noses, cauliflower ear, etc. Things happen when you are training hard.

Once again, this news story is about jiu jitsu, not a women's self defense class.

  • @Gamezero05 LOL. 05, practically NO ONE taking M.A. instruction gets bruises or bloody noses. There is nearly no contact in most dojos/self-defense courses. They pay money, they are taught nonsense, there is minor PT and no discipline. In return, they get a colored belt and are told they're deadly ninjas. On that note, this conversation reminded me of a comedy. Did you see "the foot-fist way"? the scene i thought of is at 1:00

watch?v=2Vv4pYda_Z0&feature=fvst I had a good laugh at that!
