Bass has gotten a bad reputation as being boring and simple, and to be fair it's not completely undeserved. However, there are times when the bass outshines the guitar, and if you blindly avoid bass these are some songs that you're missing out on.
I'm sure this won't be the last Flea song. This is an example where the bass is undeniably better than the guitar. Flea puts a lot personality into his playing, and the result is funky and very fun to play on a plastic guitar.
Like most bass songs if you don't use all your overdrive you don't get gold stars, which I didn't on this run.
