This was a "star" hunt for me, although, I found no silver, it is rare for me to find more than one coin from the 19th century. Also, it was a good weekend for nickels, and my v's now equal the buffalo's at 13 a piece for the year. HH

  • @dwcanady53 Good luck with your Ace 250! HH

  • real coin collectors buy things in good condition. If your gonna bother digging up coins. Go to europe and dig up a silver penny from 2000 years ago.

  • @myeyesarebloodshot I'd love to metal detect in the UK. It would be amazing to find a celtic, roman or saxon coin. Nevertheless, I have found silver coins in great condition that I prize more than those in a PCGS holder; moreover, it is a fun way to relax on the weekend. Cheers.

  • You need to learn coin popping & ground slitting techniques and stop leaving bad holes destroying the sod in the park. Its behavior like that causes cities to ban metal detecting in parks which makes it hard on all of us that detect.

  • @AngelaA81410 Thanks for your comment and concern regarding the hobby. However, I disagree that cutting a semicircular plug is visible or does much more damage than coin popping. Cutting a semicircular or 3-sided plug is promoted by all of the metal detecting manuals that I have read as the ideal way to retrieve a target. Regards.

  • @Biofilmz Sorry. I was in a bit of a narky mood when i posted that. Thanks for your cool response.

  • @Biofilmz Agreed! It's so easy to patch a small divot back up, it leaves absolutely no damage at all to the landscaping. I LOVE hunting at parks... but it's soooo difficult to find any where you are allowed to dig or search. Great job by the way. Excellent finds!

  • Nice video mate cool finds thanks for showing HH

  • @MUDSWAT Hi Mud, the ideal signal is 13-13, but I'll dig a 12-13. If the park has coins from the 30'-50's I'll dig 12-14 and 12-15 for the chance at a silver war nickel. The 12-11 is almost always a beaver tail, but I've dug some nickels at that signal.

Now - for the older deeper nickels - the numbers can jump around. I look for a CO number that sometimes hits on 13, and a FE from 08-22.

    HH
