@kevfulchester That still means that Spinal Tap came first, whichever way you look at it. And that's not a reason to discount it. Cannon or not... it happened. Just like the Star Wars Christmas Special.

@sinbysin666 This is Spinal Tap was released in 1984, Bad News Tour was released in 1983... so unless you've found some sort of space-time anomaly, that means that this predates Tap. The 1979 appearance wasn't the same actors and was just a 5 minute short idea that Reiner had... so I wouldn't consider that cannon and would therefore discount it.
