Just walk out if your home and listen . Listen to the sound of the industrial age . That humming noise , the sound of automobiles all around us . If you do your research you will realize that we are swimming in our own downfall. Which is the dependents of fossil fuels .We are in a recession now because of peak oil and peak oil only!! @james7696739 Who says there gonna share the oil with the world? Who says there gonna sell to the U.S anyway. They have already changed over to the euro as payment for their oil and dropped the dollar. Maybe the U.S will invade and spread a bit of freedom and democracy there too like in Iraq who coincidentally also have large oil reserves.

climate change is the choke point- coal to liquids cleanly? it'll get done due to the frenzy created by scarcity - but it's going to be a massive fight- why spend the money on a transition strategy when we can invest massively into the renewable techs!? let's INVEST, create jobs in the RENEWABLE energy sectors! I read that the world uses approx 88 million barrels of oil a day . That will increase in the next five years as the West recovers from recession and the developing world develops, to maybe 120 million. So if Iran has 138 billion barrels, thats approx 4 years worth for the world?

Were are all the refineries 'processing' high sulfur oil? China?.

I thought it went something like Saudi Arabia (peaked) Kuwait (P) Mexico (P) Russia and then maybe Iran? ... not forgetting Canada (wink)
