how long did it take to build this?

All the time I've spent watching your videos is time well spent,

There's a lot of great stuff going on here. I like that each track has a different feel to it. The one track has the loops and is pretty quick in action, while the other is comprised of less frantic motion with the waves and the large, gentle curves. They look great operating at the same time, one type of motion juxtaposed against the other.
The wavy part is a favorite here. I'm considering trying a bit of that. Great job!

Your sculptures continue to impress and really do look like they would have to be machine made as clean as they look.

Ha! I really wish I could make them with a machine. Just set the dial for a "dozen" and come back later.... : )

what do you use to bend the wire? and what wire do you use? I've always been fascinated with these things. I would one day like to construct a giant weather powered one. That uses wind to bring the balls up the screw lift.

Mostly I use my hands. If the bend is very sharp, or if I need to get a small "kink" out of the wire I use two pairs of needle nose. I use mostly 1/8" stainless steel wire for the tracks. 1/4" for the supports.
I have seen a wind powered rbs. It was nice. Had a large "propeller" at the top that turned in the wind and lifted the marbles to the top.
It would be a cool project. If you don't use the wind though, you could go with solar power.
