If I remember correctly, they only took one or two tubas that year, one of them being someone who had been marching since 2003 and was marching cadets for his ageout. I feel that the age reasoning is a nicer way of saying that they weren't offered a spot at the time. After marching for the past four years, one of those years being with your son, I believe that he would have no trouble making the corps any year other than 2009, was just a hard year for anyone to make it.

I have a great friend of mine that I marched with in high school that marches for Carolina Crown and it takes a great deal of talent and dedication to do this.

@Majkhnds and betterdrummerjoe...for the record..my son auditioned and made the 2011 Cadets and he was only a junior in HS and will be a senior in 2011-2012 school year......he is loving it and is very accepted by his section and the entire corps.
