Johnny Cash - Strawberry Cake - Audio from Live Performance - No Video - Although I don't like slide shows this song illustrates the ballad/song story telling ability of Johnny Cash so well that I had no other way to share it other than with a somewhat tacky slide show.
The pictures are great! Where did you get these?

Johnny Cash has been a long time favorite of my Dad, then myself, & thanks to your posts I can share these videos with my two young sons. Thanks for the posts!

Exactly, Johnny said he based it on "Strawberry Roan," the old cowboy poem and Marty Robbins song about a roan horse that was hard to tame. I had this album, along with every other one Johnny ever did. It IS one of his very best live albums and shows just how awesome he was in the mid-70's. Hopefully columbia will re-release it someday. According to the biographies out there now, most agree he was truly at his height as a live performer in 1974-76. I saw him twice during this time. Amazing

This reminds me of Strawberry Roam. Johnny's the best. I wonder if there's a parody going on here somewhere. :p
