(May 30)This is AP Sports Friday.The LA Lakers are in the NBA finals, after a series-clinching 100-92 win over the Spurs in game five of the Western Conference Finals Thursday.The Lakers rallied from an early 17-point deficit to win.Kobe Bryant led the Lakers with 39 points, 17 of those in the 4th quarter.While the defending champs go home, it's LA's first trip to the finals in 4 years.------------------------------------------Big Brown trainer Rick Dutrow Junior said Thursday 'it's a foregone conclusion' that his horse will win the Belmont Stakes.That would make Big Brown the first Triple Crown winner in 30 years.Big Brown missed three days of training this week with a slight crack on the inside of his left front hoof, but Dutrow says it won't affect the unbeaten colt in the Belmont June 7th.-----------------------------------------Arizona pitcher Randy Johnson tied Roger Clemens for 2nd place on the all-time strikeout list thursday.The Big Unit struck out 9 batters in a game against San Francisco.----------------------------------------------------------In a matchup of division leaders, the White Sox bested the AL East-leading Rays Thursday 5-1.Joe Crede and Paul Konerko homered for the AL Central leading ChiSox.Chicago pitcher John Danks matched a career-high 8 strike outs in the win.SOT: John Danks----------------------------------Track coach Trevor Graham was convicted Thursday of one count of lying to federal investigators about his relationship to an admitted steroids dealer.However, the jury was deadlocked on two other charges, when at least one juror had serious doubts about the credibility of the prosecution's star witness.----------------------------------Vancouver Canucks rookie defenseman Luc Bourdon was killed Thursday when his motorcycle struck a tractor-trailer in a crash near his hometown in New Brunswick, Canada. He was 21. Bourdon was the Canucks first-round draft pick in 2005, selected 10th overall.------------------------------------------At the French Open, top seed Roger Federer lost the first set, then steamrolled 60th-ranked Albert Montanes of Spain, 6-7 (5), 6-1, 6-0, 6-4.Defending champion Rafael Nadal also won handily, in straight sets over 148th-ranked Nicolas Devilder of France.James Blake was not as fortunate. For the fifth time in six career trips to Roland Garros, Blake lost before the third round, losing to 80th-ranked Ernests Gulbis of Latvia.On the ladies side, 8th-seeded Venus Williams was a winner Thursday._________________, the Associated Press, with AP Sports Friday.
