Kevin Gaudet, Federal Director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, explains why Canada's long gun registry is a waste of taxpayers' money in excess of $106 million annually. Gaudet testified before the Public Safety and Security Committee (comprised of Members of Parliament) regarding Private Member's Bill C-391 to end the long gun registry. We in New Zealand scrapped our failed gun registry in 1983. Here's hoping you guys in Canada won't have to pay for that glut for to long. Common sense will hopefully prevail and your long gun register binned as a result.

Get rid of the long gun Registry. Just because a firearm is registered DOES NOT stop that same firearm from being used in a crime, suicide or any other such use. The registry does nothing to stop any of the above that is fact. All those bleeding hearts can just stop whining. A man who registers a firearm aka long gun can still use that firearm in a criminal act, ergo you have stopped nothing.

damn Liberals and NDP, they just had to tighten the leashes on their reasonable members and vote out the bill by 2 VOTES!! I'm happy the liberals were kicked to the bottom of the pecking order(excluding BQ, they're essentially non existent now) and the Conservatives won majority, Canadians have been slaves to Liberals for too long, we needed a new government and we got one, hopefully it works out :D
