I had this when I was a kid.
I never put any of the ships on the board, instead I just played with the little ships separately (& I still have em).
I also got the Episode I version of this game & did the exact same thing with the ships from that.
Too bad there weren't Episode II or Episode III versions of this game.

DON'T BUY IT! IT HAS FREAKING CREEPY CLOWN MUSIC IN THE BACKGROUND WHEN IT TALKS! IT HAS A FREAKIN MIND OF IT'S OWN! ME AND MY FRIEND PLAYED IT AND IT STARTED MAKING CLOWN MUSIC AND WE COULDN'T TURN IT OFF!

I have those same memories too bro. This game is awesome love the game and sound effects. My brother hates regular battleship but really liked this one. Mostly because of the advanced wars option, which allowed for cool special abilities. Such as long range scanner, proton torpedos, and concussion missiles. I wish they would make more star wars movies, so I could start buying some well made star wars themed games again.
