The movie begins with a shot of the Chalcolithic settlement of Lempa, just north of Paphos in Cyprus, which dates from 3,500 to 2,500 B.C. Figurines of pregnant women found in the remains of these round huts suggest that worship of a fertility goddess pre-dated the establishment of the cult of Aphrodite further east, as at PalaeoPaphos at Kouklia. Many tourists, travelling across country from Paphos to the north coast of the Akamas Peninsula, a protected nature area, go to view the springs overlooking Chrysohou Bay, popularly known as the Baths of Aphrodite. On the path, you can see wild Spring flowers and smell and see the jasmine bordering the path to the springs. A wild fig tree grows out of the rocks above the pool. Legend has it that women bathing in the pool can rejuvenate themselves although the rules say No! The video concludes with a panorama of Chrysohou Bay taken from the restaurant on the cliffside run by the Cyprus Tourist Organisation. Very good food too.
