@takitezy7 I suggest you put on a gi and join them on the floor. You might be surprised how real it is. It's point sparring - not a UFC fight. Technique is the focus here.

@takitezy7 - Uhm... if you "haven't learnt any of it" perhaps you should do some research before you make comments. This type of kumite is meant to provide some semblance of control. The philosophy of the style is "one shot, one kill"... not to stand off and pound the snot out of each other. Clean technique only for scoring. Not brawling.

i love karate, i havent learnt any of it, but i reckon its gay that you have to jump around like that. Look at lyoto machida from the ufc, does he do that?

sport karate is just that... a sport. it has different rules than the UFC - rules that support being fast and accurate more than being able to have a guy knee you in the head.
machida himself competed in tournaments just like this before he ever fought in the UFC, btw. might wanna do your homework before you start talking trash.
