I`m 49 years old and watched Hawaii 5-0 in first runs in the 70`s and It is still my favorite theme from television of all time.

As Bob Bogle ascends to the sky, I hope he looks back on this performance and thinks "damn! I had a blast".

My older brother took me to the Honolulu International Center arena (HIC arena) in 1965 to see the Ventures. I was buying their records as a kid then. To watch this video decades later is a most moving experience.

The Ventures have had more than one hit...it all started with Walk Don't Run, which was in the Hall Of Fame long before they were inducted. They also rank #61 in sales for the entire decade of the sixties. H5-0 reached only #4 (1969)...WDR was #2. There were also several other hits, though not that high.
