Well, the skeptic says, "Nonsense! We've always had earthquakes. We have always had famine, we've always had pestilence, and we've always had warfare." The skeptic says these can't possibly be signs of
the end.
But the skeptics haven't read what Jesus says. He prophecied by saying this
(Matthew 24:8)
"All these are the beginning of sorrows."
Now, that word "sorrows" is a very interesting word. What exactly did Jesus mean by it?
You know what that word, "sorrows," means? Literally translated, it's contractions. It's labor pain. Just like my wife said the baby would never come, the skeptics say Jesus is never going to come.
But Jesus said when the contractions get bigger, and they become more frequent, you will know it's almost time. So let me ask you a very important question. How big are the contractions on planet Earth?
Well, Jesus gave us signs to watch for in three general areas. He gave us signs in the religious world.
He gave us signs in the political world, and He gave us signs in the natural world.
So let's ask the obvious question: How big are the contractions in these three areas today?
He said in John, chapter 16 (John 16:21-22):
"A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you."

There is no question some painful things are going to happen. Jesus calls them contractions. But one day soon, you are going to forget the pain, Jesus says. Because He's coming back, and it's all going to be different.

  • Yes. Beginning of sorrows as the Bible predicts for end times. 2011 seems to mark the beginning of this period.
