I wish I could recall the name of the village as that might lead me to a visitors center or Chamber of commerce,somewhere that I could send or post a little note of recognition to the fine folks from the village.Not wanting to be mean but I; for whatever reason don't readily associate that type of behavior with the English. Regardless it was a really lovely act ! Job well done! A real big JOB Well Done to the land scape guy who first befriended him.With no training it was really awesome progress

i felt sorry for him, but the funny part was when the guy was helping him clear out his house just after he finished his garden, and the guy found a broken, rusty, pink umberella! and he still insisted on keeping it,:0:o but what made me laugh was, why did he have a pink" umberella anyway, and he couldnt fix it cus all the wire was bend lol bless the man!:)

What a top top guy who helped out by getting to know him as a person and then addressing the needs not imposing himself. And totally agree with the retired pilot comment, incredible how a village can be so community focused yet miss the chance to actually be community!! Shame on them

I felt sorry for this man too. Good for those who helped him, and shame on those pompous twats like the retired pilot who boasted being part of many village groups, but couldnt stretch to a charitable one.

What a fantastic programme and what a brilliant bloke - this doc had me fascinated - One thing that really jumped out of it for me was the guy with the local gardening business - if more people had his tolerant/friendly attitude and his keeness to help someone who had been isolated by the other wankers in that village, the world would be a much better place. Hats off to both men - it just shows what an open mind can achieve. Happy New Year to them both.
