Today, NH government is just a little less discriminatory. And that's never a bad thing. Herewith, the Marriage Equality Rally preceding the final showdown on HB73, "relative to the solemnization of marriage," outside the NH State House, 6/3/2009, culminating in making NH #6. By 5:30pm, even the shouting was over, the fat lady's lungs collapsed. Hell, even Cheney gets it.. How, then, is there an excuse left...?

See more of my ranting, and the Senate Committee hearing at http://bikerbillnh.blogspot.com/2009/04/redneck-vs-pariah-not-that-theres.html

Now. Can we all work TOGETHER to get government out of the religion business?

  • I am glad that daddy government will permit same sex people to get married. I would have preferred that the people who worked for this bill would have directed their efforts to the real problem and that is the government involved with marriage in the 1st place.

  • I hear ya. I just don't think government would be thusly removed any time soon without getting more people (read religious right) committed to the "correct" solution. Now, by forcing the issue with HB73, et al,, they, too, have an incentive to get gov. out, as vindictive and petty and bigoted and irrational as that incentive may be. Isn't coalition-building wonderful...? ;-) And in the mean time (which, again, should now be shorter -- next year?), government is discriminating less. Win and win.

  • I wish people would get it through thier thick skulls of rainbows or whatever they love. Banning same sex marriages is the thing to do i mean they already have the same rights as a married couple do but to have a paper and to be reconized in the state i mean come on we know your gay so why shove what we dont want down our throats and we "opposers" have to sit and watch this blasphamy happen. i wouldnt be surprised if any catastrophic events happened to all the states that support it.
