obviously it is impossible to literally force a person to worship. the argument is just that after being forced to be physically present in a worship service every morning at 9, it's pretty natural for worship to become meaningless and mundane

@Brooklyngurl4e just because some students at harding aren't pleased with the rules doesn't mean that they should leave. there is nothing wrong with hoping for change and bringing attention to some issues that might be negative. unfortunately at harding it is not easy to express disagreement to the administration, so this anonymous medium is one of the ways to indirectly cause people to think about these issues.

It's not the rules that bug me about Harding. It's the people that come out of college handicapped in the real world because they become so adapted to life in this bubble. I know a few these same students that think that Harding is the greatest place on earth and have actually gone to tattle on people that drank costing that person thousands of dollars and a permanent black spot on their college resume. These same people are going to be in for a rude awakening when they go to the real world

@MrHU1234 So do you not go to Church every Sunday and do the same thing?
-
@MarvelMonopolyMan How are those even good examples? Anyway, I'm sure there are exceptions to the rule, but on the whole, wtf?

@chapeltweet Because nobody that comes out of Harding knows how to communicate with non-Christians *Cough*DonMcLaughlin*Cough*Chr
issimpson*cough*ScottAdair*Cou gh*KenNeller*Cough*DevinSwindl e I'm going to have to do something about that cough, I don't think it will stop.

The problem with Harding isn't how difficult it is to go to chapel early in the morning, how strict their rules are, or how unfair many of their policies are. Although these are all true, what is truly the worst aspect of Harding is the "bubble," as it is called. Most Harding students will leave, handicapped for life. They will never be able to communicate effectively with non-Christian Americans. They will never be able to enjoy many of the gifts that God has created for us. This saddens me.

Not to mention you don't have to go to Harding, and if you don't go to Harding you don't have to put up with the rules, so if you're taking the time to make an animation about how awful my school is (and my family of Harding students) then it's only because you have something deep against Harding, and though I don't agree with everything that they do, they are still a group that sincerely loves God, and if you don't see that then I'm very sorry

I don't feel oppressed at Harding. I feel like I'm not at a state school. We're a different university and we should act differently. I absolutely love every second that I'm at Harding. I love that I start my day looking into the Bible with my fellow students. I love that (and this will be a shocker to you) that I can disagree with my Bible teachers and they will respond in an open minded and loving way. People have too many authority issues, and they want to be able to do what they want.

HAAHAH this is great. HARDING SUCKS! barely made it through one semester.

I have been at Harding for 4 years and have never been "forced" to worship. They force you to go to chapel (which is not exactly worship), and they certainly do not force you to participate in the singing, etc. They do not force you to go to church or anything else either, so where does this "forced worship" idea come from?
-
What's all this "force" stuff? I'm pretty sure nobody puts a gun to your head to attend Harding University, and much less to attend worship services. I highly, highly doubt the administration at Harding actually wishes to literally force people to follow Christ against their will. That's a little silly.
Your stupid, seriously hardings not that bad. Those like me who are choosing to go There go there for the environment which it provides. And were not "Brian washed" I choose to go here not because o my parent but because I don't have to worry about as much temptation as other colleges that allow you to have sex basically whenever and don't have a problem with people drinking. If your a real Christian you would see the absolute value of a place like Harding university which is actually a very li

@sirzookie i'm not familiar with Brian or the washing of Brian so i can't comment much on that. Nor have i ever heard of albline. sorry. however, i can say that i am extremely familiar with Abilene Christian University and it is much less strict than Harding. Every aspect of ACU is less strict and less conservative. you might need to do some more research before you make bold false claims like that.

If you hate Harding's rules, don't go to Harding University. I'm pretty sure God also hates complaining. Also, the theme of the Bible is not "God being frustrated and disappointed by heartless worship". If you, assuming you are, a Christian and you tell non-Christians this, what is the point of becoming a Christian?
The theme of the "entire Bible" is more along the lines of God's love for us and His Son's life - read Jesus' genealogy and you will see that the Bible covers His ancestry.

@DukeOfNature i'm extremely sorry for my mistake. it should say that "God being frustrated and disappointed by heartless worship" is one of the main themes of the Bible, not the entire theme.
If you, assuming you are, a Christian please forgive me

Hey, look, it's the first person to ever think of these things! I'm so glad my eyes have been opened to the oppressive environment I've been forced in to! What an original thought!
...Or, it's exactly the same thing that runs through every Harding student's head at some time or another while they are spending 4 relatively carefree years at the expensive private university of their own choosing. But then again, I've probably just been brainwashed into thinking that while you alone see the light.
