This is the longest LEAGUE Cup tie ever. There is a few FA Cup matches which has gone on longer.

Briliant stuff. Was as the two games at Burnden - would be interesting to see what sort of crowd we'd get for a similar match these days - doubt it would be anywhere near 14,000!

I know the rules on offside are confused now. But that dissalowed goal was harsh in the extreme.

Did that tie remain the longest running tie in English football history? I remmember Liverpool Everton and Arsenal Leeds went to 3 or 4 in the early 90's?
