@reverbflange It's almost as if hes trying to be humble and not come off as a cocky asshole with a giant, over-inflated ego. I say almost because if he is, he's not doing a very good job. A man can only hide so much before it backfires and looks like he doesn't appreciate his talents or his fans. It's like a solar eclipse; the suns still fucking there and so is your condescending douche bag attitude. I'm beginning to think he just hates Tool because it doesn't involve rotten grapes. Wine sucks.

@browneye870 You know what, I agree with you on him being a dick. He is. About the legend by association thing, I can agree too. He's a great creative writer and has an awesome voice but it took TOOL to get him heard. There are probably lots of other people in the world just like you or I that have just as good of a voice and potentially as good or better of a writer. Like you said, he just needs to learn to take a compliment and not be so annoyed.

@reverbflange I'll give the man the credit he deserves, but personally, I hate Maynard. Not as an artist, but as a person because hes just unwilling to take a compliment and accept his inevitable legendary status. Hes a total dick, but hes a dick in a band that will go down as one of the greatest and most influential acts in the history of music. The band is the true legend, and whether he likes it or not, hes a legend by association. He might as well get used to it... can't change it now.
