neglected Chinese Sharpei dog with Mange saved from death

this is "Angel" the black Chinese Sharpei. I saw her in the local high kill shelter. i had to do something! My friends on Twitter rushed into action and she will be going to a nice lady in California once she is healthy enough to travel. She has demodex mange. its the non contagious type of mange. but the mange is so bad and she has itched herself so bad, that she has dug huge gashes in her body. she was scheduled to be put to sleep the day i picked her up. this is her first visit to Dr Brooks vet clinic. if you would like to help with finances in treating and transporting Angel, please send all donations to paypal account sisteramy@hotmail.com. any amount would be so very helpful. thanks for watching and taking time to care. I don't mean to sound cruel, I am an animal lover and I also fight for animal rights. But watching this video, it wouldn't be better for the sake of this dog to be put down? I really admire you for what you have done, amazing act...but It is clear this dog is suffering from this disease. Well I really hope to be wrong, i hope this animal is fine now!! I am sorry if i sound 'heartless; but i don't like to see animals on pain! Anyway you done a good job with Angel!

@leomatosuk have you read some of my responses to people asking how angel is now? the kind of mange she had is treatable and I knew that. she was miserable and in pain but I had hope for her and so did many others. if you would please check out her new owners you tube page to see how vibrant, healthy and beautiful she is. It will show you she was worth it. btw, turns out she was not a sharpei but a pitbull/mastif mix. bolonee1 is her youtube name. please check out angels videos now.

I found her at the pound and have to save her from being put down. found out she is just a puppy and a Mastiff. she was shipped to a lady in California and is doing very well. I assume the poor girl was so neglected and then turned loose on the streets. makes me really mad that people did this to her. that is why i had to save her.

I had a friend who's dog had that. He didn't do anything wrong, and was taking the animal to the vet every week. His stupid Rat Terrier chewed on itself chronically and then rolled in the mud and worse. It ended up totally infected and lost half it's skin and hair. Stupid, discusting and filthy thing. Then it did it all over again.

i have a sharpei , she have the same problem ! piodemodex ! its a generalized form of demodex . i have tried all medications , pills , shampoo ect ! at this stage of sick its better to use TAC TIC intervet (amitraz) use with caution ! it small like fuel , 4ml each litre ! for bath (every 2weeks during 4months) , carefull the eyes, never on it!!!!! (use a sponge,terry towel for the face) use the bath once . after 3 bath the dog seems better , dont stop the tratment !!!! dont breathe too much .
