This is an example of a 3D Navigation application for PND running on OpenGL ES 2.0 technology i.e. Mali-200/400. It illustrates in particular the GLBenchmark software from Kishonti Informatics. This uses Kishontis NaviGenie engine to render the 3D maps on screen as we see it in this video. Going forward, this will be upgraded to show higher quality textures, bettwe turn by turn navigation and better use of the OpenGL ES 2.0 shader capabilities exposed by underlying the hardware. As the name implies, its objective is to form the future industry wide 3D navigation benchmark.

  • The graphics rendering is nice and fast but what about 3D scene updation intervals. If there is a change (re-construction) in the path or other physical deviations then will it catch cup ?

  • When you drive a car - you need to look at the road (at least sometimes). With graphic like this it's impossible.

  • Nice. Like driving through interactive GTA
