This was to toe-rag that made his films on the back of other actors that were fighting for their country. Am I saying he was a coward? Why, yes. I am calling this toe-rag a coward. I don't like him or is damn films.

@056716 Actually, it was the Utah desert and was the fallout from the Nevada Test Site. But you're talking about a lifetime of smoking versus a couple days radiation exposure; smoking is the main cause, otherwise all of Kane County Utah would be dead from cancer. They LIVED THERE for years...

It was said that John Wayne smoked 6 packs per day, and this is what caused his death.

Actually, JohnFord the Director he mostly worked with also died of cancer, Kinda strange they both got it plus a bunch of other actors for filimg in the nevada desert downwind where the did nuclear tests, I don't think the smokes helped either

I have some PSAs for the American Cancer Society with John Wayne on my DVDs. Not this one, though. It's a good PSA. Thanks for posting it! What I find ironic is that John Wayne was pitching Camel cigarettes about 10-15 years prior to when he contracted cancer. I know, 'cause I have an ad on my DVDs with John Wayne pitching Camels. Plus I'm sure you can find Camels ads with John Wayne here on Youtube. I don't think it's any coincidence that he first smokes Camels, then gets cancer!
