Spectacle donation program in Kandy, Sri Lanka

A new view. - EyeClarify.com is a Dutch non-profit organisation that collects spectacles at opticians, and distributes them to countries where it is hard for people to get a spectacle. In Sri Lanka spectacle frames are much too expensive for low class people. For only the frame they have to spend between one and two month salaries, while they already have so many difficulties making a living. To give them a chance to see properly (an opportunity to educate themselves!), programs such as in this video are being organized. First the person's eyes are being measured, secondly they choose a suitable spectacle frame which they like. Two weeks after that, the local optometrists have fit all the glasses and another meeting is held, to hand over the spectacle frames and make some corrections if needed.
