Actually, I picked up a Hohner Blues Harp in Bb not too long ago, and that thing practically sings right out of the box. Good tone from the wooden comb and wide openings at the back, and very playable reeds that bend effortlessly. The problem is you have to play gently or you can choke or crack the reeds. I guess it kinda depends on your playing style.
@DocSixString never get a blues harp i started on a blue harp its not the best but it is good. i like to have a variety of harps, i got blues harps, special 20s, golden melodys, pro harps, and big rivers. going to buy a blues bender this weekend to see how it is.
@DocSixString Try the special 20, i think it's the best beginner Harp. Also a Suzuki HarpMaster is great as well. The 20 is better for Blues and the Suzuki is ET tuning. good luck
