The greatest tenor I have ever had the joy to hear. Held in the highest esteem by all his peers. Aragall did not take the route of the all the others with PR and sophisticated agents. He sang where and when he wanted to and kept his voice by not singing outside his repertoire. It is a pity more tenors didn't follow his example. If you search you will find many recordings but buy quickly as the prices are going up and up as more people discover the beauty of this lovely man's voice.

That evening I made my debut on the 1st Act of Tosca playing the bells in the Te Deum as the percussionist was stuck in traffic coming from Maracay. Listening to Aragall's singing and working with him was a thrilling experience.

Maybe Aragall's "fragile morale" accounts for his touching interpretations. In any case, to my ear Aragall is at least a worthy if not preeminent tenor. Finding his CDs should not be such a treasure hunt. He's too good! Undoubtedly, there is a significant and well-recorded discography out there that has not been sufficiently marketed. That needs to change. With proper marketing, eager enthusiasts would flock to the stores waving their money, and I would be first in line.
