We would use this song without the diminutives. We would say, mi dedo (not mi dedito) dice sí, mi mano ( not mi manita).

Well... You´re right! Since 1982, the music teachers we were fighting to change dedito, manita, etc, to dedo, mano. But the people doesn´t help. And the song is a traditional song and it goes: mi dedito...
